Castle Employment Group

Background

Castle Employment Group is one of the premier independent recruitment companies located in Yorkshire, with nine specialist divisions spanning sectors from accountancy and finance through hospitality to procurement and technology and a newly launched HR consultancy division.

During 2023, the Castle team helped over 3000 candidates find new jobs with the 600-plus clients they serve.

Anna Wilson, one of the Castle Directors responsible for marketing, joined Superfast Circle to launch and build the Castle group’s marketing capability to align with the group’s growth plan. In this case study, we share how we supported Castle in delivering this part of their plan.

What Was It Like For You as a Director Leading Marketing Before You Joined Superfast Circle?

When I joined Superfast Circle, I had just taken over the marketing for the business.  We were very reactive in our marketing and what we were doing. For example, we were outsourcing all our content creation and social media, constantly re-writing content, and not tracking what it delivered for us. 

We wanted to bring all our marketing back in-house and needed support to ensure we knew what we needed in place, had a clear plan, and knew what our marketing team should deliver.

Our key goal in working with Sharon and Denise was upskilling our marketing team with the tools to run effectively in-house.

How Did You Find Superfast Recruitment, and What Made You Decide To Join Superfast Circle?

We met Sharon at a TEAMS event and loved how she presented; we also knew someone in the circle who recommended SFC.  

Following a chat with another circle member and where we were as a team, we felt we lacked some core knowledge and practical application regarding generating content while trying to manage the more proactive marketing tasks. 

We liked the available support and the ability to work at your own pace.  We had various levels of experience in the team, so it had something for everyone and the opportunity to lean on two experts for questions and support.

What Have You Achieved While Being A Member of Superfast Circle?

Our original goal was a structure and plan to move forward, which we now have.

In addition: 

  • We now have a 100% internal marketing team – No outsourcing.
  • Updated our website to work smarter.
  • Created a social media calendar and plan to ensure consistency of messaging and content.
  • Created download areas on our website with valuable resources for our candidates
    and clients.
  • The ability to capture data and the leads we wanted.
  • Developed our marketing assistant’s understanding of what the marketing team does and gave her the tools to be more proactive.
  • Increased our LinkedIn followers significantly through content and brand management.
  • Working with Deise and Sharon enabled us to identify skill gaps and recruit into the team.

How Has Superfast Recruitment Helped You Achieve Your Goals?

It has really helped me and the team understand the importance and benefits of utilising marketing well and ensuring you have a process in place.

Personally, it has helped me review what was being asked of the team and prioritise and set key KPIs so we can track how marketing is working for us.  Seeing followers and engagement levels increase across social media platforms and organic website visitors has been great.

The content Superfast provided was over and above what we expected.

What is it Like to Work With Denise and Sharon?

Sharon and Denise have been wonderful. Alongside being members of Superfast Circle, we have leaned on them for additional training for our senior team, along with numerous emails with questions. 

They have been on hand whenever needed, and the structure and process are simple and easy to use, which is great when your day job is full on.
