Hi! It’s Sharon from Super Fast Recruitment with a recruitment marketing update and Happy New Year to everyone! This is our first video of 2014. Now I had a great conversation with a client yesterday who was just so inspired. She was thinking about coming back to work and there’s that little bit of “Oh you know, got to get back into things” and yet she said she found it so easy and I was curious as to why was that.

She said “You know what Sharon? What’s made the big difference is in December we spent that time together getting my marketing plan together. So actually I got back to my desk on Tuesday, I knew exactly what my goals are for this year… I know exactly what I need to do.” And she just got stuck in and got on with it. And so, you know 3 to 4 days in she was just really so productive and on such a high it was brilliant to hear her.

Now my question to you is, have you got a marketing plan for your recruitment business? Do you know what it is you want to achieve in 2014? Now David Frey is a leading American Marketer and his research shows that companies who have a marketing plan generally achieve 25% more in terms of their results than companies that don’t. So that’s quite an incentive.

Now of course I realise that January is an incredibly busy month for the recruitment industry and you might be saying “You know what Sharon? I haven’t got time in January to even think about a marketing plan.” Now, I would challenge you on that and say, “This as a priority.” If you’re serious about really growing your recruitment business and capitalising on the opportunity that there currently is in the market, it’s about taking a stand as a business owner and saying “No, this is important. I’m going to prioritise it.”

I would challenge you to block some time off on your diary, get out of the office, and put together some ideas even if it’s just on one A4 piece of paper about what marketing will help you deliver your results this year. Now don’t let January roll into February and you still haven’t got it. Even if you do a marketing plan for Quarter 1 or Quarter 2, make it important and make it happen. So this is Sharon from Super Fast Recruitment with a recruitment marketing update and well be back with you shortly to see how you’ve got on. Bye for now!
