Marketing in recruitment is all about your message. It’s Sharon Newey from Superfast Recruitment, and this is going to be a short and very important video today.
Now, I don’t know about you, but I’ve had many conversations over the last month or so as LinkedIn has been upgrading its platform and people have been coming across changes to the interface, almost by the day.
One of the common things in terms of the topic of conversation has been that these changes are going to impact how I can reach my target audience.
While I can understand the frustrations, and trust me, I’ve shared some of those frustrations as well, that actually it isn’t going to be the changes to the LinkedIn platform that will impact your ability to reach your ideal clients or your ideal candidates, it isn’t.
What is going to impact your ability to attract your ideal clients and candidates is going to be your messaging and how you are messaging to attract the kind of people that you want to attract.
The reality is, that so much marketing, whether it’s in the recruitment sector or outside our sector, communication tends is too general.
And so messages, they don’t land with the intended audience. So if you want to make sure that whether you are marketing on LinkedIn or what other platform or what another strategy you’re using to market, you need to be very clear about who you are targeting and have a detailed profile of that person.
Secondly, make sure that your messages are not generic.
Vanilla is the word – everything’s just the same. If you want to stand out, make sure that your messages relate specifically to your audience, to their problems, to their challenges.
So don’t use LinkedIn as an excuse and as a reason for your marketing not working, take some time, go back, revisit who you’re trying to target and those messages.
That’s where you want to do the work.
That’s when your marketing will start working even better for you.
Thanks,
Sharon.
