Hi! This is Sharon from Super Fast Recruitment with a recruitment marketing update. Today I want to talk about the key question that we get asked by most recruitment business owners about how to get traffic and leads to their website.
The most frequent question that we are asked is ‘How do I get more visitors to my website?’ whether that is client or candidate or increasingly, new talent as businesses are growing in the current market.
For anybody to visit a website and you know yourself, there has to be a reason.
The most effective way to attract clients, candidates or indeed new talent to any website is to give them content that is going to be valuable or relevant to them.
The key thing is that content from your perspective in your business area will be more effective if it’s evergreen. By evergreen we mean that it is content that is always there. So whatever point in the buyer’s cycle a candidate, a client or talent is, when they are ready, they see that content, they click on it and they come to your website.
The beauty then is if you’ve got them on your website they can look around be it on the job board, a case study or other information. I love stories so let’s just share a little story to illustrate the point.
At the moment we are in the middle of converting a building into some office space. We are looking at all the different kinds of heating options. I was doing a bit of research and I came across an article about a certain kind of heater that our electrician recommended to us. I was looking at this article and it was really helpful. It was written in plain English so I just loved it.
The key thing was, and why I’m sharing it is the article was 2 years old. Two years ago, it was not even in our heads to convert this building into some new office space but two years later, we are.
My point is that this content was generated a couple of years ago, now I am at that point of wanting to buy, so I am reading it for the first time as I suspect a number of people before me.
You can replicate this in your business. What often is said to us though is “I’m a recruiter. I know how to recruit. I place really good quality candidates. I know how to get new clients. I am not an expert when it comes to writing content.”
The key thing is that it’s either writing content is a problem because people don’t have the knowledge or the skills to do it or it is time because you guys are incredibly busy. So the options are that you train someone using a company like ourselves or a provider to create that content internally or you outsource it to people like ourselves. There are plenty of other agencies out there.
The key point here is that a current client of ours now after a couple of years has over 120 pieces of content on their website and that is going to be there forever pulling leads in which it consistently does.
Content and content marketing is not going to go away. It is only going to increase all the time and it is a worthwhile investment in terms of creating content and sharing content to pull leads and traffic in on a consistent ongoing basis and I just shared there how to share content.
There’s going to be a part 2 I think of this video because I think that once you have created it, you then need to know what to do with that content. So my message to you is, if you are not already creating content, you really seriously have to think about how you can start developing consistent high-quality content for your clients, candidates and for future talent.
