Content Marketing Mistakes: Are You Communicating The Right Impression For Your Brand

 

Hi, this is Sharon Newey from Superfast Recruitment and today, and over the next series of videos, I want to talk about content on social media, because it’s such a huge topic and a great opportunity for recruitment companies like yourselves to create brand awareness and generate leads.

Last night I was on a Skype call with a colleague of ours who is an absolute whizz and expert on the tone of voice when it comes to promoting your brand.

Ben has worked with the likes of Google, Aviva and Vodafone and is considered a global expert on this subject.

 

What does your communication say about your brand?

The conversation made me reflect that, often I can see postings on social media and they are ‘funny’ or weird photographs or comments about a candidate arriving late for an interview or something that they’ve done on the way to that interview.

And you know, at that moment in time, it might provide a bit of a laugh for the people in the office.

And here’s a thing that I really want you to think about though, is that when that social share goes out there and prospective candidates and clients see that communication, what does that say about you, your business and your brand?

And is it saying what you want it to communicate about your brand?

Brand alignment is important and it’s easy to do.

I notice this when I’m looking at different company’s content and social media, that I find myself thinking, what’s the strategy here around the content that people are sharing? How planned and thought through it is. And when I ask that kind of questions, I can see how uncomfortable that makes the business owner or marketer.

Because the contents not planned, it’s quite reactive. So, my message to you is, think about the content that you are sharing out on social media and how aligned is it aligned with your brand.

If it’s not, don’t share it.

Your brand alignment is important because you will attract or repel prospective clients and candidates on the back of it.
