Hi, it’s Sharon Newey from Superfast Recruitment. And, today, I want to talk about a burning question that came up in our Superfast Circle call yesterday. And, that was around what content do we write about for candidates?

We had a good lengthy discussion, and I want to share with you some simple ideas that are based on what we call the candidate journey.


What Journey Are Your Candidates On?

Moreover, we’re shooting this video in the summer, okay? Lots of people away on holiday. And, when candidates come back from holiday, sometimes various things happen.

They come back recharged, fired up, ready to get going in the second part of the year because they love their job.

Sometimes candidates come back and think, “Right, that is it. My performance review before the end of the year had more broken promises, yet again. I’ve had enough, time for new job.”

What an opportunity to write about conte,nt here for candidates who are now visiting your website because they are looking for a move.

Great idea. Of course, they’ve made the decision, then, okay? They then start to go out to the job market, and maybe they’ve not been in that job market for some years.

So, they’re looking; when they go onto Google, they’re looking for help on, “How to get my CV up to date. When I’ve got my CV, and I’ve got those interviews lined up, gosh, when was the last time I had an interview?”

They are looking for information and content that will help them.


You Can Help Build A Long-Term Relationship

Of course, when they’ve secured that job, your jobs not finished. Because I imagine if you’re a real ambitious, keen recruiter, of course, you will want to nurture a longer-term relationship here.

Because there’s other opportunities for placing that person further down the line.

There could be referral opportunities.

So how about creating content to help that person make an impact, in the early part of their new career, in a new business. How do they develop that career beyond the early days?

There’s lots of scope here for fantastic content that you could be creating to help nurture that relationship and add value to these candidates.

Hopefully, that’s given you a few ideas to get you going.
